If you have a special interest in promoting smokefree behaviour to young adults, we invite you to register now for our Public Health Summer School course:

What does the Tobacco Endgame mean for young adults?
Date: 18th February, 2014
Where: University of Otago campus in Newtown, Wellington.

What will it cover?

Hosted by ASPIRE2025, this course will examine smoke-free behaviour and how we can bring about the tobacco endgame among young people. Together  we will explore critical questions such as:

  • Why is smoking uptake among young adults increasingly a major problem in tobacco control?
  • What is being done about it?
  • What can be done about it?
  • How could can we achieve endgame goals and Smokefree 2025 among this key age group?

Who is it for?

The day will be particularly relevant to people involved in developing smoke-free initiatives and policy for young adults aged 16-35. The course is designed to assist and support members of the smoke-free community who work to support and maintain smoke-free behaviour among young adults. It should be of interest to researchers, and those involved in social marketing and health promotion initiatives at national or community level. Policy makers would also benefit from the course content and networking opportunities.

If you’re working with young people, please think about attending; we’d love the opportunity to share our ideas and learn from your experiences.
