This new “Industry Watch” paper, published in Tobacco Control, explores how BAT(NZ) has drawn on familiar tobacco marketing strategies to launch Vype, a new e-cigarette device.

  • Many of the promotion activities use social media, linked to key events, to target young adults.
  • Marketing supporting Vype appears to breach BAT’s vapour products marketing principles.
